Job Summary. 

  • Constructs, erects, installs, and repairs structures and fixtures for all phases of commercial construction.

  • May frame walls, roofs, and floor systems.  Framing may include sheeting, nailing, and blocking.

  • May build and install stairs.

  • May install siding.

  • May build and install fences

  • May assist with area cleanup.

  • May assist concrete crew.

  • Will use various carpenter’s hand and power tools (will wear tool belt).

  • May drive forklift.

  • Will conform to local building codes.

  • May study blueprints, sketches or buildings plan for information pertaining to type of material required, such as lumber or fiberboard, and dimensions of structure of fixture to be erected.

  • Assemble cut and shaped materials and fastens them together with nails, stapes, glue, etc.

  • May fit and install windows, doors, frames, weather stripping, interior and exterior siding and trim and finish hardware.

  • May carry ladders and scaffolding materials and assemble for building/placing structures above ground level.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities. 

  • Moderate supervision, reports to Foreman.

  • Receives work instructions from Foreman and/or Superintendent.

  • Performs carpentry work pertaining to concrete, framing and/or finish work.

  • Works all required shifts, including varying shifts, extended hours, and overtime.

  • Assists with daily problem solving.

  • May perform other duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrates knowledge and compliance with all company safety policies and procedures.

Skills Required. â€‹

  • Ability to read and write, do basic math including add, subtract, multiply and divide

  • Understand and follow verbal and written directions.

  • Verbal communication in English.

  • Able to use and read tape measure.

  • Independent worker with good organizational skills.

  • Ensures and contributes to a safe environment for customers and employees; keeps current with and adheres to OSHA and safety training requirements. 

  • Must wear safety glasses, safety harness (as needed), hard hat, hearing protection, leather shoes and may wear gloves as needed.
